Welcome

On these pages you will find information about me (Henrik Friis), both professional and personal. As I am a conscious mineralogist, I must warn you that some rocks were harmed in the process of making some of the pictures found on these pages!!!! In the "Professional" section you will find things like CV, publications and research interests. Whereas, the "Personal" section contains miscellaneous information about me and mineralogy.

Briefly About Me

  • I am in my early 30's
  • I have been interested in minerals since the age of 11 and I have a degree in Mineralogy
  • I am especially interested in alkaline, beryllium and REE mineralogy
  • I am also interested in the physical properties of minerals, especially their luminescence
  • Luckily minerals are found all over the world, giving me a great excuse to travel
